Overview
Consensus is an AI research service for asking questions about scientific literature and receiving answers grounded in papers. Its search combines semantic and keyword retrieval across a large scholarly corpus, then presents paper metadata, citations, excerpts, and synthesized findings. The product supports literature reviews, evidence tables, bibliographies, research-gap analysis, and clinical or policy research workflows. Consensus also publishes an API and an official MCP server for connecting the search system to compatible assistants and applications. The core service is proprietary, while those integration repositories are open source under MIT.
