Overview
Character.AI is a consumer chat platform built around user-created and platform-created AI Characters. People can discover personalities, fictional figures, and themed assistants, then carry on text or voice conversations for storytelling, roleplay, language practice, or casual exploration. The service also supports creator participation and community discovery around Characters. It is a hosted product accessed through the web and mobile apps, rather than software that users can self-host. Character.AI’s official materials describe the service as interactive entertainment powered by AI and machine learning.
