Overview
Qianwen is Alibaba’s AI assistant and model family for conversation, text generation, coding, multimodal understanding, audio, tool use, and agent interactions. Alibaba’s current product site separates the consumer assistant from enterprise API and model services, with Qwen models used across applications and industry scenarios. The official Qwen repository contains the chat and pretrained large-language-model code and is released under the Apache-2.0 license, so this model project qualifies as open source under the stated rule. The hosted assistant remains a separate service that can be used through Alibaba’s web products and developer platforms.
