Overview
Railway is a managed platform for provisioning infrastructure and deploying applications from repositories, Docker images, or reusable templates. Its workflow includes project environments, variables, services, databases, deployments, logs, and a command-line interface for local or automated operations. Users can deploy services from Git repositories. Railway has documented AI/ML templates and a dedicated AI area covering cloud coding agents, an infrastructure assistant, MCP connections, and plugins for coding tools. Railway is proprietary, while the official CLI is open source and maintained separately in GitHub.
