Overview
Discord provides servers with text channels, voice and video calls, screen sharing, streaming, direct messages, roles, moderation tools, and app integrations. Its developer platform supports bots and apps that use REST and Gateway APIs to respond to events and interact with communities. Servers can be public or private. Discord has documented AI work including Clyde, AutoMod AI, conversation summaries, and image or avatar experiments. The client and service are proprietary. Discord’s official GitHub repository is documentation for the API rather than the Discord application source.
