Overview
Devin is Cognition’s AI software engineer for software-development work. The product can take an engineering task, gather context, plan changes, edit files, use a shell and browser, run tests, and report progress while a developer reviews or redirects the work. Cognition also offers Devin CLI for terminal-based sessions and handoff between local and cloud work. Devin is a proprietary managed service for individual developers, engineering teams, and enterprise workflows. The official Cognition GitHub organization publishes integrations and supporting tools, but no public repository containing Devin’s core product source was found.
