Overview
Bear is a closed-source note-taking app for Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. It uses Markdown-style editing with tags, nested tags, backlinks, tables, sketches, tasks, attachments, web clipping, and search across notes and supported files. Bear Pro adds iCloud sync, encryption, extra export formats, themes, and OCR search. The official help center also documents a command-line interface for AI and scripting, which gives the app a direct automation and AI integration path. Bear is free to start, with subscription features for the Pro tier.
