Overview
Twist is an asynchronous work communication app built around threads, channels, and focused discussions. It is designed for teams that want conversations to remain organized and searchable instead of relying on constant real-time chat. The service is available through hosted applications and an API. Twist is closed-source, but Doist publishes an official TypeScript SDK, CLI, and Twist AI package. The AI package provides tools for MCP clients and conversational interfaces to read, search, and update Twist workspaces, so the product has a documented AI connection without being an open-source product itself.
