Overview

Zulip combines streams, topics, and direct messages to keep team discussions organized and easier to revisit. It is available as a hosted service and as a self-hosted server with web, desktop, and mobile clients, plus APIs and integrations. Zulip's current server documentation describes AI integrations, including a beta topic-summarization feature that can use OpenAI-compatible model endpoints. The main server and web application repository is Apache-2.0 licensed, and the Zulip organization also publishes an MCP project for connecting AI agents to Zulip.
