Overview
Scrivener is a closed-source desktop and mobile writing application for long projects. Writers can split a manuscript into sections, rearrange it with an outline or corkboard, keep research beside the draft, track metadata and word targets, and compile the project to formats such as Word, PDF, EPUB, and Final Draft. It supports macOS, Windows, and iOS, with separate licenses and synchronization options. Literature & Latte states that Scrivener itself contains no AI, but its macOS version supports Apple Intelligence Writing Tools for proofreading, summarizing, and rewrite suggestions when that system feature is available.
