Overview
Regenerate is built into Descript’s transcript-based audio and video editor. Users can highlight a passage, repair a jump cut or awkward delivery, remove certain distractions, or change the words in a script and generate replacement speech that follows the surrounding recording. The feature can work with an AI speaker or a voice authorized by the speaker, and the generated clip can be converted into a standard audio layer for timeline editing. Descript documents English-only limitations for some Regenerate workflows. The former Overdub name is now used as legacy terminology.
