Fontjoy

Overview

Fontjoy helps designers explore type combinations through a visual font-pairing interface. Its underlying project represents fonts as feature vectors extracted from rendered letter samples, then compares those vectors to find pairs that share some traits while differing in others. The web tool can lock a font, generate another pairing, and adjust the balance between similarity and contrast. The related GitHub repository is MIT-licensed and documents the font-vector method, but its last push was in 2017 and it does not contain the full hosted application. Fontjoy remains a small browser tool for typography exploration.
